About Us
SEETE was founded in 2025 by an ex-offender in response to recurring gaps within the criminal
justice system identified through lived experience and frontline mentoring practice.
Our leadership team brings credible lived experience of custody, rehabilitation, and reintegration,
supported by professionals with extensive experience mentoring vulnerable young people in
community and education settings. This combination allows SEETE to understand both prisoner
realities and the operational pressures faced by prison staff.
We believe that when people feel understood, respected, and supported, while being held
accountable, meaningful and lasting change becomes possible.
What we do
SEETE – Securing Enabling Environments Through Empowerment supports prisons and criminal justice partners to create safer, more rehabilitative environments that reduce re-offending and improve outcomes for both staff and people in custody. Grounded in lived experience and informed by evidence-based practice, we work alongside prisons to strengthen recovery, improve equality and inclusion, enhance staff–prisoner relationships, and support successful resettlement. Our approach bridges the gap between policy, practice, and lived reality, helping individuals take responsibility, build capability, and prepare for life beyond custody.
SEETE works with prisons and criminal justice partners to move environments from simply managing behaviour to developing people.
Our work focuses on
- Creating Sustainable Enabling Environments that promote safety, dignity, responsibility, and accountability
• Improving recovery and substance misuse outcomes, including credible Incentive Substance Free Living (ISFL) units
• Developing safe, effective mentoring and peer support through accredited training
• Supporting equality, welfare, and cultural competence to build trust and reduce conflict
• Reducing homelessness and re-offending through structured accommodation and resettlement support
• Delivering accredited awareness and offender courses that challenge harmful thinking and promote positive change
How we work
We take a collaborative, trauma-aware, and strengths-based approach, working with staff rather than against them. Our lived-experience-led delivery builds credibility with people in custody while fully respecting prison safety, security, and professional boundaries.
We focus on:
• Accountability, not excuses
• Empowerment, not dependency
• Long-term cultural change, not short-term fixes
Our impact
By enabling individuals to understand how their choices shape their environment and their future SEETE helps prisons:
• Improve safety and stability
• Increase rehabilitative engagement
• Strengthen staff confidence and consistency
• Support successful reintegration into the community
• Reduce the likelihood of re-offending
SEETE exists to help prisons move from managing behaviour to developing people creating environments where change is possible, sustainable, and real.
